We are proud to show the deep patriotism and commitment of our industry to veteran drivers by displaying 10 custom-wrapped trucks on the MATS showroom floor. We invite you to participate in supporting those who have served and successfully transitioned into a career in trucking by attending Veterans in Trucking’s patriotic events at the 2023 Mid-America Trucking Show.

Participating companies will showcase custom-wrapped trucks honoring their selected veteran drivers. The VIT Grand Showcase gives our industry the opportunity to witness these beautifully-wrapped rigs while meeting and thanking those who now serve our country behind the wheel of a truck. Stop by the Pavilion to witness the collection of all-American rigs.
People’s Choice Award
Choose your favorite rig at the Grand Showcase to win the People’s Choice Award! The award honors the participating veteran truck that receives the most votes. The winner will be announced at
FASTPORT
FASTPORT is the U.S. Department of Labor’s exclusive intermediary for the Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics sector, where they provide free consulting services and expertise for employers to initiate and expand Registered Apprenticeship Programs. FASTPORT’s National Program Standards span all lines of work relevant to the Supply Chain, including Truck Driver-Heavy occupations that comply with FMCSA’s new Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT) Rules.
To strengthen America’s trucking workforce, FASTPORT was recently designated as an Accelerator in the Biden-Harris Administration’s Trucking Action Plan, helping more than 100 employers launch Registered Apprenticeship programs in 90 days. Additionally, FASTPORT participates in the White House’s follow-on effort, Task Force Movement for Trucking, to bridge the gap between policy and pavement by creating pathways to connect military families to the industry with good-paying, family-sustaining careers.
FASTPORT also created the Transition Trucking: Driving For Excellence Contest in conjunction with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s Hiring Our Heroes Program and Kenworth. For the past seven years, FASTPORT has facilitated a fully-loaded Kenworth T680 truck being awarded to a deserving veteran who enters the trucking industry. Please take a look at the truck that will be awarded in 2023 and meet FASTPORT’s subject matter experts in the West Wing Pavilion, Booth 74173.
Wreaths Across America & Wreaths Across America Radio
National nonprofit Wreaths Across America and its 24/7 internet radio network Wreaths Across America Radio are pleased to announce their participation in the Veterans in Trucking Showcase to be held at the Mid America Truck Show! The two booths will be set up for attendees to learn more about the mission to Remember the fallen, Honor those that serve, and Teach the next generation the value of freedom, and to share their own personal stories of service and success.
In the Wreaths Across America booth, guests will learn what makes a Veteran’s Wreath and those who make a sponsorship of the program will be given the opportunity to make one to take home (while balsam supplies last).
You can also hear about how you can help move the mission yourself by signing up to be part of the 2023 Honor Fleet. There are many ways to get involved – stop by to speak with the team and learn how you too can join the mission.
For those professional drivers, carrier owners, and veterans who have participated in the program, Wreaths Across America Radio wants to hear from you! The team will be broadcasting LIVE throughout the event and is looking to share the stories from those who have experienced the impact of the mission. In addition, we are looking to share stories of veterans and military families who have found success through their own service as part of this year’s theme, which is ‘Serve & Succeed.’
