More than 120 boxes of food were distributed to veterans in need in Massachusetts over the weekend.

According to South Coast Today, the Cape Verdean American Veterans Association distributed the food to veterans in need as part of the Food4Vets program, allowing the veterans to line up in their cars at New Bedford High School in New Bedford, Massachusetts as the volunteers placed the boxes in their trunks.

The boxes contained around 2 weeks worth of food and all volunteers wore masks and gloves.

The event came about thanks to Lt. Colonel Gary Correia, Commander of the Verdean Vets, and City Councilor Ian Abreu.
