From the Navy to the Army and beyond, US military members are getting on board with a viral military social media trend showing off their digs, and the differences in quality might surprise you.
The trend seems to have started last year with Army soldier Chandler Flood, who posted his room at Fort Benning to Tik Tok with the caption “If you’re in the military and you live in the barracks, use this sound to show off your barracks room. Make sure to mention what base you’re at so people can compare.”

And with that, the trend took off.
For those not in the know, barracks are often similar to college dorms with one important exception – you don’t get to choose which barracks you live in. Barracks are often assigned based on duty station, unit assignment, and rank, making for luxurious accommodations for some and bare-bones rooms for others.
