“From a phone conversation to reality it’s been quite the trip,” said Sean McEndree when asked about the building of his custom Band of Brothers, Purple Heart semi truck.

The big rig, a 2006 379 Peterbilt, took 7 months to transform into the rolling Purple Heart tribute truck it is today, and McEndree says he’s proud to honor our country’s wounded veterans.

McEndree earned a Purple Heart himself after being wounded in the Army during an ambush on his unit and was thrilled when a buddy of his presented the idea for a truck honoring something so close to home.

“It was amazing to watch it transform. Really cool. It was a teary eyed moment when I got it,” he said.

But this isn’t McEndree’s first show truck – his first, Fallen Heroes II, had to be given up, but he says he’s happy to be back at it again.

“I had a show truck before. Working bobtail,” he explained.

“It was called Fallen heroes II, built that in honor of a buddy of mine that was killed in Iraq in 2004. In 2008 I had to get out of the truck… I had a chance to get custody of my twins and I had to give that truck up. But I got my boys and here we are 8 years later and I’m back at it.”

We just can’t get enough of this truck. Check out this video-interview showcasing the big rig and McEndree’s description of the project!
