The US Department of Veterans affairs recently spoke with veterans about the Battle of Iwo Jima in honor of the 75th anniversary.
In the interview, Medal of Honor recipient Hershel “Woody” Williams and Navajo Code Talker Thomas H. Begay speak about their experience during the battle, and how they felt about the flag raising.
“It was the greatest feeling I ever had,” said Begay.
