Operation song was founded in 2012 by Nashville songwriter Bob Regan, who began the program at the VA Medical Center in Murfreesboro, Tennessee under the supervision of a music therapist.

What began as group songwriting sessions with as many as eight veterans gradually changed to focus on just one veteran at a time, transforming their stories and unresolved issues into a real song – lyrics, music, and all.

Now, Operation Song has written more than 600 tunes with veterans and military members ranging from WWII to those currently serving.

Since 2012, the word about Operation Song has spread, and the free-of-charge program has been utilized all across the country by veterans of all ages and branches. Because of this, the nonprofit has reached capacity, with more demand for their programs and retreats then they are able to provide, so they are looking for funding to help them expand.

If you would like to help Operation Song provide a unique healing experience to as many of our country’s veterans as possible, please visit their website here.
