The Joliet Area Community Hospice near will be hosting its first ever “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Celebration” next month.
According to The Herald-News, The celebration will take place at at American Legion Post 18, 15052 Archer Ave. in Lockport, Illinois. The event is intended to honor and celebrate Vietnam Veterans who may have never been appropriately welcomed home due to the circumstances and opinions surrounding the war.
Joliet Area Community Hospice has been caring for veterans since it opened in 1982, and has since enacted the “We Honor Veterans Program,” enhancing the lives of the veterans in their care through events like the upcoming “Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day Celebration,” as well as providing care that recognizes the unique challenges that may exist in military families.
Advanced registration is required for attendance. Those who wish to attend may contact Kristen Kolwelter at 815-740-4104.
