Support Siouxland Soldiers, an Iowa non-profit striving to “Connect Veterans and Military family members with each other and Community Resources to Improve Well-Being,” Projects for Patriots, and the Food Bank of Siouxland are hosting drive-thru grocery giveaways, allowing veterans to avoid trips to the grocery store during the COVID19 pandemic.
Wednesday’s grocery giveaway marks the second grocery event and organizers say that more than 10,000 pounds of food were distributed to nearly 250 local military and veteran families during those events.
The event is held at the Indian Hills Shopping Center in Sioux City, Iowa.
