Disabled American Veterans (DAV) is offering grants of up to $250 for disabled veterans affected financially by the current pandemic.
Regardless of membership with DAV, service-connected disabled veterans who have lost employment as a direct result of COVID-19 are eligible to apply for the grant. Those eligible include self-employed veterans such as contractors or small business owners.
In order to apply for the grant online, applicants must provide proof of their status as a disabled veteran along with proof of unemployment or financial need as a direct result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
A copy of a VA ID card or any other official VA documentation showing service-connected disability status will verify eligibility. Proof of unemployment, such as a letter from your employer or some type of proof of lost income for self-employed individuals must also be provided.
The grants will be distributed in check form and should arrive within two weeks from your application’s approval.
