The new Chase County Veterans Memorial bronze statue and six benches were installed in Cottonwood Falls, Kansas on Friday.

The bronze statue depicts a kneeling soldier with his hands folded in prayer and the six iron benches have been painted in red, white, and blue. Each bench represents a different branch of the military and even features a plaque with the name of the donor who purchased it, reported The Imperial Republican.

Memorial bricks honoring veterans are still available for purchase at $200 each. All proceeds from the sale of bricks will go towards the cost of the memorial.

“So far, 190 bricks have been purchased. We are receiving the engraved bricks 20 at a time to minimize shipping costs,” said veteran Bud Statz, who was involved with the project.
