With the name to fit, veteran Kevin Knight has continued his crusade of serving our country with Knight Transportation.

Knight Transportation, which proudly employs 489 veteran drivers, recently presented Kevin with a custom-wrapped truck dedicated to the service of Vietnam veterans.

“I knew right away that I had the perfect driver for this,” said Tyler Spitler, Charlotte Terminal Manager, Knight Transportation.

As part of Knight Transportation’s Fleet of Hero’s, the rig is designed to bring visibility to the dedication of Vietnam veterans. Alongside powerful war images and military emblems, the truck bears the message “We Served America Then, We Serve America Now.”

“As you may remember, our Vietnam veterans were not warmly welcomed home with friendly smiles or faces. This truck is meant to finally give these veterans the recognition they deserve” said Dave Jackson, President/CEO, Knight Transportation.

Now, Kevin’s rig is a living tribute for all to see across America’s highways. And, even though he didn’t serve in Vietnam himself, the truck has connected Kevin with Vietnam veterans who appreciate the honor.

Drawing the attention of one passing Vietnam veteran, Kevin heard the motorist’s appreciation over his CB radio “I just love the wrap on your truck and I just want to appreciate your company and the recognition of Vietnam veterans.”

Kevin joined the Navy in 1988 and spent eight years serving our country as an Aircraft
Mechanic.

During his time in the Navy, he was stationed all over the world and developed a love for travel. Being stationed in Maine, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Bermuda, and Spain fueled a desire to see new places that would follow him into his future trucking career.

After leaving the Navy in 1996, he worked as a maintenance technician at Keesler Air Force Base in Mississippi until he decided to make the career change to obtain his CDL.

“I like to travel, so that’s what got me into trucking, it kind of fit hand-in-hand.”

In 2016 Kevin joined the Knight Transportation family, where’s he’s been ever since and has racked up over 650k safe miles.

“They really work with you. There are a lot of good companies out there but Knight knows you at more of a personal level. It’s just been an honor working for Knight because of the way they feel about veterans.
